WHAT DOES A MARRIED UP DATE NIGHT LOOK LIKE?
Our goal for the night is for couples to have so much fun that they forget they’re learning something along the way! We get such a kick out of seeing countenances and body language change over the evening. Laughing and singing old love songs together builds new memories while tapping into some old ones. No one is called out that doesn’t want to be noticed, but it’s a safe and fun environment to rekindle and refresh love. The teaching moments are fun and disarmingly real and practical. The take-home sheet at the end helps things take root and produce fruit.
WHAT ABOUT A MARRIAGE CONFERENCE OR RETREAT?
We love having a ton of laughs and fun at a date night event. But we also love going deeper with extended sessions and topics for marriage conferences and retreats! We’re happy to work with organizers on topics, but some of our favorites beyond our 7 date night event points are things like: “Love Listens”, “Spiritually Healthy”, “Contagious Marriages”, “Water Your Own Grass”, “Life and Death in the Tongue”, “Sharing the Seesaw”, “Spouse Second” and “Where Fruit Comes From.” Let’s talk about what your marriage retreat or conference could look like!

ABSOLUTELY NOT! :)
Yes! We know as a church leader you need a few things from us:
- NO DRAMA – You need to know that we are not going to get on stage and say things that will get you 35 angry emails the next morning for crossing lines or bad theology etc etc. The pastors that have hosted us have been very pleased.
- NO DIVAS – You need people who come to your church to SERVE alongside you, not demand to be served or behave like entitled rockstars or celebrities.
- QUALITY – We fondly remember a pastor who took a chance on inviting us and told us how he woke up that morning nervously thinking “I really hope they don’t suck!” :) (his words!) Well, let’s just say now he’s one of the pastoral references with a raving review here on our site! We hope to make you look like a genius for inviting us!
We want couples to laugh a lot together. Laughter disarms and heals. Laughing together is refreshing and unifying. When people are laughing, they’re listening! The musical love song journey is also designed to crack hard exteriors and tap into old memories. The teaching component of the night is super practical and is designed to help couples think well of each other and find ways to bring spark back if needed as well as re-center a marriage on Jesus Christ.
Also, we really love it when a church uses a date night event like ours as a rally point to then connect couples with next steps like a newly launching small group Bible study or deeper marriage coaching opportunities etc.
YES! We sure think so. We are disarmingly “un-churchy” and jump into love songs from the radio over the past 60 years early into the night. EVERYBODY knows these and can sing along. While you don’t have to be church-goer to get the jokes, Christ is front and center in the night and the Bible is referenced often. Our Heavenly Father is revealed as the sustainer and healer of marriages. Marriage was His idea and His ideas about how to do it works best!
We have had “just married” newlyweds as well as couples married longer than we’ve been alive at these date night events and they all came away raving! We promise there’s something for everyone! We’ve had some couples sing high praise at the end of the night that have been married longer than we’ve been alive – and we’ve even had engaged couples come really enjoy the night. (There’s no reason they can’t – we don’t say anything racy!)

The counsel and principles found in God’s Word are the best instruction for strengthening and protecting marriages and the very best foundation for any household to be build upon.
