Of course, this one is seasonal and depends on if that’s at all obtainable where you live. But in the winter, many people live within proximity of at least a small ski hill, and without a hill there is also cross country skiing which can also be very relational and great exercise!

Even if you don’t own a gun to shoot, at many shooting ranges you can rent one and even take a lesson. If you’ve never tried it, feeling the power of a gun or bow in your hands can be exhilarating. Learning proper technique and actually hitting a target as desired is super rewarding. This could be the “outside the box” experience you both might be surprised to enjoy together.

Now, this one is only free if you have the self control to walk away without buying all the animals, but you could go on a date to the pet store and play with the puppies or kittens (or snakes) or whatever you’re into! Petting animals is therapeutic and animals are extra cute when they’re little and in the end you can walk away without cleaning up any of their mess!

We know for some of you this is WAY out there. But it could be that it’s not impossible, maybe one of you hunts and the other has never come along? Even if a shot is never fired and Bambi’s mom gets to live, the experience of being out in nature on an adventure together could be one for the books!

Depending on your town’s farmers market, the can be interesting or even fun. Why not try something you’ve never tried? Sample a few wares… grab a bite or a drink from a food truck… Maybe pick up a few things to bring home and cook a meal together.

Not just boring shopping… Why not go to a vintage shop or thrift store and dare each other to try on crazy clothes for laughs? Or get a coffee and drive around to garage sales or estate sales with a few bucks on hand.

The old classic. If it’s been a while it could be a lot of fun and laughs! Neither of you need to be any good at it for it to be a fun date night. Some towns have especially fun alleys with glow in the dark, lights and music. Some fun snacks while you’re goofing off can make it even more fun!

This one might be “out there” for some of you, but it can be a LOT of fun! (and if you stink at it, it could be hilarious too!) Axe throwing locations are growing in popularity and chances are there’s one not too far away. Apparently there are even LEAGUES for this now if you both like it!

How many years has it been since you went go-carting? Why not take a spin around a local track and see if you’ve still got the edge! What if there was a friendly wager with your spouse with benefits for the winner provided by the loser? Throw in some ice cream after for the date-night-win!
